Cracked Pepper Brasserie and Bar

Sitting in the Winter sun we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Good hot coffee, fluffy pancakes and bacon and eggs on Turkish bread were our choices. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent.

This upsets me to write a bad review because I have been going to this cafe on a regular basis for approximately 8 months. I have always found the food fantastic and the service very friendly and helpful. But something has changed, the staff are different and I would say indifferent.... My first time that I noticed that things were different was a few weeks ago where myself and a friend went for breakfast..... I got pancakes with a large coffee and I was charged $33! When I questioned it I just got a shrug of the shoulder from the young man and was told that was the price.... After vowing to boycott the place I finally went back yesterday just for a coffee..... I ordered a mug of latte with zymel milk extra hot.. After receiving my warm coffee I drank it and immediately had to go to the toilet. (was the correct milk was used) I asked for the key to the bathroom. When I got back my table had been cleared and someone else was sitting there. I told the waitress that I hadn't finished and was told that there were plenty of tables and I could have a glass of water, no apologies.. And then I got charged $6! For a mug of warm coffee! I questioned it and was told of the $1 surcharge for the milk! Seriously $6! Whatever is happening at cracked pepper has taken it from a friendly welcoming local to an indifferent expensive hold up!

Cracked Pepper has a couple of heated marquees that create a cozy and charming space for us ladies to enjoy some wine and dine. The food was amazing, affordable, generous portions, and arrived promptly. We loved the atmosphere so much that we stayed for drinks before, during, and after our meal, making it difficult to leave this little slice of heaven on the Esplanade.

Sat outside and had a great casual dinner for under $20. Great attentive staff , portion size was larger than normal and food tasted great!!

We went here initially because it was right next door to our hotel, then found how welcoming the staff are and what good value for money it was, so we returned twice more.The decor inside is a bit basic but the outside dining area is lovely. They are extremely accommodating and the service is fast and friendly. The meals were well presented and reasonably priced.
