Plenty of parking, easy access.Wonderful setting, with great viewsWe stopped for lunch after doing a nearby walk.Food was well presented and of good quality, portion size was medium to small, but worked well for a light lunch.Wines from the on-site vineyard were rather good.Service was a perfunctory but ok.Not a perfect visit, but well worth a visit if you're in the area for a nice lunch with great views View all feedback.
What John Mahathevan doesn't like about Flame Hill Vineyard:
It had been a while since we had visited Montville. We were impressed with the expansion of the vineyard since our last visit and were delighted to buy a bottle of Kondalilla bubbles as a souvenir from a wonderful weekend away. View all feedback.
Purchased a few wines after wine tasting, which were pretty good. Peaceful location & views are stunning, love the decor inside as well. Quite a short lived experience if you don't eat there (we had just had a huge lunch in Montville town ) so all we did was wine taste, look out at the vinyard/views & bought some wine & locally grown passion fruits (which very were very fresh & tasty).
We came here for the tastings, but decided to stay and enjoy a glass of wine with some food. The tasting plate of cheese, meats, caviar, quince paste etc. was simply amazing. The service was faultless, special thanks to Rebecca, out waitress. The wines were excellent, the Razorback being my favourite, at $20 a bottle it beats many other wines in this price range. I have visited many wineries in Australia, NZ and Europe, and this is one I rate as one of the better ones I have visited. A reservation is advised if you want to secure one of the restaurant tables that offers the best view of the vineyard and valley below. Prices are reasonable by vineyard restaurant standards, but this is a fine dining restaurant. Great for a special occasion.

We recently visited the winery for a tasting and reluctantly were served three complimentary wines. Very little conversation or information about the wines were provided. We then thought we would stay for dessert and coffee at the restaurant which has stunning views of the Coast. Apparently they had been very busy for lunch and the kitchen was quite overwhelmed so we were asked to wait while they got a table ready. This was despite there being numerous vacant tables right in front of us. We waited for an unreasonable amount of time during which the woman commented to other guests that they could come through as they had made a booking. Finally we were allowed to sit down only to be ignored again for another unreasonable amount of time. We decided to leave as it was made abundantly clear to us that we really weren't welcome. This winery is well set-up in a gorgeous location and could be a really beautiful destination but they don't know the first thing about hospitality. The two women serving in the restaurant were completely inept and unfriendly. Very disappointing!!! We won't be back and will be telling our friends not to bother.
We recently attended this venue for a picnic basket lunch. The location is great the picnic basket was no so good, stale bread, salad was good some stuff in the basket was unidentifiable and the ants wouldn't even have a crack at it.Sitting on the ground near a barb wire fence was a bit off. Some of the food was too I think.
