I was very surprised the quality of the food from this neighborhood restaurant. They don 't have a very big menu but there foods were all homemade. What Ali Hassanein doesn't like about Nouveau Palais:
If you’re only going to eat, it has extremely mediocre food especially for the price. The fried chicken is honestly worse than even IGA fried chicken. Burger is as meh as it gets.Ambiance is nice and the music is cool, but the food is so bland. No sense in going here given how many amazing restaurants are in the area. View all feedback.
I really enjoy this place; it's a great combination of a diner and a fantastic local bar. Just a heads up — the kitchen closes at 10 PM, but you can still grab a nightcap afterward.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at this local restaurant. While their menu isn’t very extensive, everything they offer is homemade, and every dish we ordered was delicious and spot-on. The oysters were incredibly fresh and expertly shucked. Their homemade Caesar salad was also exceptional. The mussels and fries were fantastic as well. The cocktails were enjoyable—nothing extraordinary, but reasonably priced. We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The only downside I would mention is the decor; the ambiance could use some improvement, as it feels a bit dated and could benefit from a renovation. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for good food that’s neither too expensive nor overly fancy.
This charming local spot is one of the neighborhood's classic diners. It offers a fantastic vibe with a relaxed atmosphere, excellent drinks, and unique food options.
Always tasty and good!4 stars because since its an old restaurant with vintage furnitures, its not fat friendly for folks who have a belly; its not confortable because its not possible to move the furnitures.
Nouveau palais is my childhood. I remember it being one of the first restaurants we went to when my family moved to Montreal. 10+ years later and it's still a lovely mile end establishment serving up great food and even better vibes. The food is great. You really can't go wrong with a palace hamburger. The waiters have always been lovely and the vibes are just unmatched. Great music, dim lights and a simple old fashioned look make NP a great place to spend the evening.
