Tropikal Restobar - Montréal

The service at this restaurant was subpar; we waited for 2 hours just to place our order. Our food arrived cold and there seemed to be a lack of organization in how orders were being distributed to our table. Overall, it was not a good evening and I left feeling very disappointed.

On Saturday night, two of my friends from Toronto were in town and I was looking for a lively and exciting restaurant to take them to. That's when I thought of Tropikal. I absolutely love this place. Luckily, we had made reservations beforehand because the restaurant was very busy. The service was top-notch, with our waitress being very attentive. We started off with cocktails, and I tried the Remy cocktail which had coffee in it. It was just what I needed after a long day, and the drink was amazing. My boyfriend and I shared a delicious appetizer of plantains with aioli sauce. For our main course, we had the goat curry with beans and rice and roti. It was tasty, although I would have liked a bit more spice. Overall, the experience at Tropikal is always fantastic and I'm so happy that my friends enjoyed it as well.

The organization and professionalism of the staff need improvement. The dishes are very good and generous, and the ambiance is on point! However, I'm not sure if I would return because the service is quite slow and reservations are chaotic.

The service and food at this restaurant were amazing! Our waitress, Marjorie, was charming and made our dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend xxx.

Do not go here! They refuse to delete their negative reviews on Instagram, so all you see are fake positive reviews from staff pretending to be customers. The staff is rude and aggressive. I waited 50 minutes for a simple salad and when I asked the manager about my order, he became confrontational and insulted me. The quality of the food is cheap.
