Mr. Ma has been my way to the Chinese food restaurant for decades. Unfortunately, I moved from Montreal to go there every time. Mr. Ma is an amazing cook that ensures that the quality of his meals is great every time. So many restaurants have broken down the quality of their foods over time, but this has remained the same. What User doesn't like about Szechuan Par Mr Ma:
We had such a strange experience. When we ordered the drinks and food (2 appetizers and one main to share) we were told we didn't order enough and they would charge a minimum of $35 p.p. Huh? We were so confused, nowhere does it state such a thing. She then told us she will lower to $30 p.p. lol. I had a lovely dinner with my gf at this restaurant. I loved how peaceful the ambiance was. The restaurant owners were very welcoming and nice. This was some of the best customer service I had in a while. To top it all off, the food was delicious!
Mr Ma and his family will bring you joy. Superb cuisine. Excellent, quiet, calm, expert service. Very refined attention to detail, even to the restrooms. You will have a lovely experience here.
This place is absolutely amazing. The lady managing the floor (presumably the owner) was extremely friendly and helpful in suggesting the dishes. Everything is delicious and great quality. That said, don't come here expecting Chinatown pricing. I would say this is a high quality, fair priced establishment. Will come back they have a second floor which I believe was empty thinking of organizing a staff event there.
From LA, and I have NEVER had Chinese food like this!!!.. and trust me when I tell you that I go to amazing spots in LA. Get the chicken dumplings (to die for), the general Tao chicken, and the crispy sesame shrimp. I also recommend the special Chinese fried rice. The whole experience was amazing and the owner is SO sweet and makes you feel at home.
I can't overstate how good the food was and how friendly the staff and servers were. Small place with a great atmosphere. If I am ever in Montreal again, this will be my first stop for dinner.
