What Happy Ox doesn't like about Steak Frites St-paul:
We went as a group to the restaurant and it is always a challenge to serve a larger group, however it took 90 minutes from ordering to being served, which seems extensive when most of the table had the same order. The steaks were average at best, which was a surprise given the name of the location. View all feedback.
Delicious!!!! The steak was great, the salmon was amazing and the salad was excellent! We found this place because it was near the hotel that we stay, we did not review the reviews before and it was a sad surprise to find that this has a low average of stars. the food was AMAZING the place should have 5 stars! Love also the attention of the staff! You were really nice!
I just came back from dinner at this place and I'm really surprised at the rating after the fact. My wife and I ordered the Chateaubriand for the two of us and we also ordered some appetizers. We are from out of town and didn't realize we could bring our own wine. Thankfully I called ahead and inquired about this and brought a bottle. Service was great right off the start and all of the dishes were delicious. We do like the keg and we would rate this place better than them. When we come back to Montreal we will be back here. It was delicious and absolutely great value for the money. We didn't order any extra but they have unlimited fries and I will say they are very tasty.
Best meal we had in Montreal! Steak fries is beyond our expectations. Peppercorn sauce was done in perfection. We also liked octopus appetizer, scallops and calamari. Besides steak w fries, we had side of mushrooms, salmon with fries and Tuna tartlet. Service was very efficient and pleasant. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Very good steak, dipping sauce for fries was one of the best I’ve ever had. You have to bring your own alcohol, which was surprising but ended up being cheaper so I liked it.
Wow! This is an absolutely amazing restaurant. Was unsure at first seeing they only had 3.8 stars but I’m glad we went for it and man is that wrong 5 star in my books! MAX was our server and was fantastic, very attentive and ensured only top notch quality was delivered to our table. Our table ordered the Rib-Eye Steak, New York Strip-loin and the Surf Turf and it was all delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant and loved that you can bring your own alcohol with you to the restaurant and they serve it for you (They have a license to serve but not sell alcohol so be sure to bring your own). Definitely don’t hesitate, you won’t be disappointed you ate here!
