Having joined friends one of whom recalled a taste full (sic) experience at Restaurant Au 917 - payed serious dividends! I savored the soup du jour of Zucchini that held up nicely in a flavorful base - followed by a Salmon accentuated with a medley of vegetables some roasted others nestled in purée that was excellent. Oh and this all started by sharing the poutine app with Brie in a boeuf sauce that kept three forks... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Restaurant Au 917:
The first time we went to the 917 was a few years back, and the food was good. However, the restaurant has really gone downhill - the food was extremely average, and there was a real lack of effort put into the presentation and preparation of the food. View all feedback.
I visited this restaurant with my husband and a friend, and the evening was unforgettable. Although the place may have seemed average at first, the experience left us with cherished memories.
I was walking along Rachel this weekend when I spotted a chalkboard announcing breakfast at Au 917. The food was delicious!
We decided to have dinner at this restaurant while visiting the area and staying nearby. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but the staff is incredibly friendly.
Restaurant au 917 is a Bring Your Own Wine restaurant in the Plateau area of Montreal. We were there for dinner recently. The atmosphere is small bistro – no white tablecloths here. The atmosphere is friendly and quite courteous, and informal. Tables are on the small side, but adequate. The room seat about 50 people, and is comfortable. The food was very good. Small steaks were prepared very nicely, and the opening soup was outstanding. The table d`hote was a good value and the right choice – the à la carte menu was also interesting, but whether it was worth the extra expense seemed unlikely. We came away very pleased. The BYOW arrangement is excellent. Wine mark-ups in most restaurants are very high, so spending $15 on a nice wine from the wine store is the way to go.Give au 917 a try – you will likely be pleased and well fed.
I went to January with my family and loved it. I go back with my family and like the last time I and my sister take the lamb chops with Bordeaux sauce that had made us so capoty. the soup and dessert as usual very good but the problem was the lamb that to super tender in January there was tough and difficult to cut and chew. It looked more like a lamb shoulder. We let him know to the server who told us that it was the usual and always top quality supplier without more. brief disappointment.
