I love this restaurant for its many vegetable dishes. The duck and chicken dishes are well prepared too. They often make mistakes with the dumpling order in particular (I take steamed vegie and have gotten a range of things), and if you want to change something, specify a substitute or they will use their imaginations. I'm writing a review without having tasted their food....I called at noon to place an order, saying that we would come pick it up at 7pm. The person on the phone said that I had to call back at 5pm, and he hung up. It's fine, to ask a customer to call back later, to place an order for dinner. It's not-so-fine to hang up on them, abruptly. I started to ask a question about one of their dishes, but realized that he had... View all feedback.
Not impressed, we ordered to take out since the restaurant was going to close.Very expensive, and not impressive with either the quantity/quality of the meal.Overall very bland and too much msg, gave me a headache and was burping all night. When paying at the counter when we ordered out, the server barely acknowledged us, and we got a dirty look when we gave them a lower tip.Tip is for service, we didn't get any service, we just ordered out, why should we tip at all? Tip is meritocracy. As for the order...Ordered the combo number 1 for 2 won ton soup: both was bland and lacking in texture, the won ton was cold and had a bad artifical taste to it. egg rolls were good, very crispy and the plum sauce was delicious cantonese style chicken chow mein: the chicken was rubbery and overall was completely bland, except for the overly added MSG, making it too salty. fried rice with chicken: again very bland, and too much msg, had to add alot soy sauce for it to have any taste.
Absolutely the worst service in a restaurant I’ve seen in years. The lighting is terrible, the carpets are filthy. The cutlery and dishes were dirty. This place is an absolute food violation place if I’ve ever seen one. The staff was obscenely rude. Borderline racist. Absolutely disgusting levels of cleanliness. This place should be shut down. You couldn’t pay me to ever eat there again!
This restaurant serves the best Chinese food in the area with a rating of 5 out of 5 for yumminess. The salt and pepper seafood exceeded my expectations with fresh ingredients, crispy batter, and perfectly balanced seasoning. The Cantonese stir-fried veggies and noodles were also delicious. This place is definitely worth a visit.
I dine out frequently and rarely complain, but after my second visit to this restaurant for a review, I must say I feel disgusted. The waiter was obnoxious and the chow mein I ordered, a simple dish, had uncooked chicken, burned and raw noodles, and was completely bland and soggy. It was shocking that the chef would serve such a meal. I felt violated having to leave the dish, pay for it, and now I am dealing with stomach issues. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the cashier, all he said was thank you. I urge others not to support this establishment. It is unfortunate that I have to leave this negative review.
The service was poor. We mentioned twice that it was our 95th birthday, but there was no acknowledgement. The soup bowl was dirty on the outside, and dirty dishes were left on the table without being cleared. There were no fortune cookies, and the waiter never returned. We eventually had to go to the register to pay. The food was okay, but Kam Shing offers much tastier dishes with bigger portions. Overall, we were disappointed.
