Great poutine, great burgers. Their secret definitely lies in their French fries, which are fried to perfection. A must on the Plateau, especially when returning from the Sunday tam-tams (a few blocks away). Also great for take-out on the way to the Mountain. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Patati Patata friterie de luxe:
The moment we started talking English we were lower class customers at once, host barely explained dishes and did not even bother to ask us what choice of food we prefer with breakfast. In addition place looked like it was dusted some month ago. Food was decent, moderately priced, however if you speak English you may have better experience in more cosmopolitan place. Great little restaurant with awesome poutine! We arrived as a group of 5 and was fortunate to be seated within 5 minutes as we arrived on a quieter time. We ordered beer and poutines and it was easily one of the best meal in town. Love the ambiance and the friendly staff that made us feel welcome.
Patati Patata: Situated gracefully at the nexus of Boul. St-Laurent and Rue Rachel, Patati Patata emerges as a luminous star within the constellation of local fast-food takeouts. This haven of flavor offers a convenient location that effortlessly pairs with the accessibility of easy-to-find parking in the vicinity. The fusion of a convenient locale and hassle-free parking lays a foundation for a delicious experience. While modest in size, Patati Patata embraces its petite charm, serving as a haven for those seeking a quick bite to savor on the go. The cozy interior, hosting a handful of seats, accommodates the essence of camaraderie that permeates this eatery. Despite the limited seating, the establishment gracefully juggles the bustling traffic of patrons with the presence of two capable employees.A bilingual and warmly affable staff further elevates the experience, crafting an environment where every interaction leaves a mark of welcome and comfort. The menu, surprisingly extensive for its petite frame, is a culinary symphony that caters to various cravings and moments throughout the day, extending from hearty breakfasts to satisfying post-evening-out meals. On the occasion of my visit, I indulged in their beef burgers. Topped generously with cheese and accompanied by golden fries, each item came at a remarkable price of $4.50. The toppings, a vibrant medley of freshness, contributed to a burst of flavors that danced harmoniously on the palate. In the realm of culinary experiences, appearances can often be deceiving, and Patati Patata masterfully defies any preconceived notions. While the images of the fare may appear unassuming, the reality is far from it. This establishment crafts a burger experience that stands as a testament to value and quality, deserving of every ounce of praise. In Montreal's vibrant food scene, Patati Patata undoubtedly claims its crown as the reigning champion of the best burger for the price.Regrettably, a minor challenge stands at the threshold of inclusivity, with a lack of ramp and a small step of about six inches at the entrance. Despite this, Patati Patata remains a beacon of culinary excellence, deserving of an unreserved five-star accolade.Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options available on the menu.
Though it looks a bit dingy, it has quite a delicious poutine. They offer both standard, tofu-based, and even breakfast poutines (with eggs and/or bacon). They also offer burgers, and sweet things, but I stuck with the classic poutine. It's casual, so you order, pay, and they bring it to the limited tables they have or eat at the counter. The poutine was really good, particularly the cheese curds. They were slightly rubbery, which is a good sign. Great portion size for the price. Servers and cooks were all good. If you're in the Saint-Laurent area or coming down from Parc Mont-Royal, or checking out the Tam tams, try the resto nearby, they open until 2 am.
This place is an absolute favorite in Montreal for eating poutine! It's definitively worth going. Every time I've come here service is nice and fast. I recommend ordering some homemade iced tea with what you order. The burgers are also great and particularly cheap. However, it's important to note that it's worth going outside lunch/diner hours as there is usually a waiting line during these times of the day (the restaurant is very small).
I really don 't see why people say this is the best poutine in Montreal... I had a better one at McDonalds! Seriously... a handful of almost burned chips (probably the frozen type), with gravy and some (still cold) cheese curds is always tasty but that doesn 't mean anything. I went a long way outside the centre trying to find this little shop and was def. disappointed... Btw the staff is very helpful, polite and fast the small fast food place is way too small and hot in the summer to eat in but there is a very nice park just across the street.
