Growing up in china my self, I was head over heel when I discovered this little joint. Will you have The greatest service, what atmosphere? No. But you will be eating some really tasty authentic Chinese food. The lamb noodle soup makes me think of what I ate while my was a kid, in my little Chinese village. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mei Chinese Restaurant:
The restaurant is definitely authentic based on the menu items, small plates for sharing, and hot oil on the table. However I tried the wonton soup (the broth was really bland but the raviolis were delicious) and the soup dumplings (had a surprisingly small amount of soup, and also tasted incredibly plain, but I did order the plainest one available). The service was pretty good, so I'll probably give it another try an... Taken my family there many times..always perfect they seem to give larger platters when when more people are at one table
I bought 2 vouchers online and paid only $3 for $40 worth of food! The dumpling was very nice especially the way they presented it to us.Staff is very friendly and explains what the dishes contain. The food was so much that we even packed some of them for take out. We could even see how they were making the dumpling as there was a glass between the dinning room and the kitchen. Very well done.Good value for money! I will definitely go back there.
The food was quite good. The service was friendly but very slow (there seemed to be only one person working on the floor even if the restaurant was almost full).I will definitely good back! One visit is not enough to taste eveything I wanted to try!
All dishes looked weird and tasted weird... as if chef is an amateur. service is very slow. price is high for small tapas dishes.... I've dined at many other Chinese restaurants in Montreal. this one is not on my "going back" list.
This was my first visit. My first impression? So cold! It seemed there was NO heat! The menu is pretty big. I chose shrimp dumplings, beef and coriander dumplings and chinese turnovers.Waitress was as friendly as a rock. You can see the owner making dumplings in the back and that is cool.Shrimp dumplings didn't taste like much...beef and coriander were excellent and so were the turnovers.I will come back to try the wonton soup.Using the bathroom was a loud experience!
