View all feedback.

We were a party of four in Montreal on a nice October evening to celebrate a wedding anniversary and decided to try Luca e Franco, which was close to the hotel we were staying at. As soon as we walked inside the restaurant, we noticed the ambiance which was so warm and inviting, with candlelight and little pumpkins lining the bar. Our dinner was great, including the excellent service provided by Patrick, our waiter. The complimentary bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and olives was a great start. Our appetizers of oysters, veal meatballs and calamari were all delicious. Each of us ordered a different entree, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed what they ordered our compliments to the chef. The staff was very welcoming and polite and we really appreciated that. If we are in the area again, we will definitely stop by for a meal again!
Nice bistro atmosphere. We may have caught the restaurant on a bad night. They were out of the two dishes we wanted to order. I had penne alla vodka with smoked salmon. Unfortunately it was served with fresh salmon which is not my preference. The pasta Primavera did not have the vegetables described and had way too many carrots. Definitely not our favorite.
After a busy day of sightseeing, we decided to eat near our hotel. Based on other reviews, we headed to Luca e Franco. Our waiter, Michael, greeted us at the door and seated us outdoors and told us if we preferred we could move inside at any time. We wanted to have a relaxing and leisurely dinner and this is precisely what we experienced. Michael told us that they specialize in homemade pizza and pasta, however, we decided to order appetizers, salad, and taverna. The portions were ample and the wine was perfect. We highly recommend Luca e Franco.
This restaurant was amazing! Their specialties are pizza and pasta, and they make the pasta in house. I had the blue cheese and pear salad, the gnocchi and canolli 's for desert. The salad was so tasty and pretty large for a starter, lots of cheese which was nice. The gnocchi was super creamy and very flavourful and again, a generous serving for the price. Luca was our server, he was very attentive and seemed genuinely interested when asking about our trip and where we were from. For desert, he brought me a free canoli, since my friend recieved one with 'the special ' she ordered. It was my first canoli and was very creamy and sweet delicious! The atmosphere was very nice inside, and seemed very cozy and romantic. We actually asked if we were underdressed, but the waitress laughed and said that our casual wear was completely fine. Overall, we had a great time, and I would definitely recommend visiting this restaurant! If you 're looking for a place to stay, we stayed at Chateau L 'Argoat just around the corner on the same block, and we 'd recommend this hotel as well. Happy travels:
This is on the top of our list for a return visit in 2016. Great new restaurant on St.Denis. We were so taken with the service and food that we went twice last weekend. Our waitress (Ellie) was exceptional. The bartender described her as the social butterfly . He was right on.
