We came here twice for brunch and were not disappointed! Fast service, funny waiters and delicious food at a reasonable price. Not too much of a wait during the weekend. We highly recommend the Benedict! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Le Toasteur Villeray:
Cute little place for breakfast near where we stayed over Christmas. My wife and son went here twice and I tagged along once. Food was ok, but a little bland. Funny, the 2 reviews I did just before from this trip, i was complaining that the food was too salty! I got a combo platter with waffle, poached eggs, potatoes and thought it was ok but not enough that I would return. View all feedback.
My party of 4 adults visited this restaurant for breakfast on May 20, 2019, which was Victoria Day. Two of us ordered the eggs Benedict; one had it in the traditional style and the other with smoked salmon. The third person tried the Breakfast poutine, while I opted for the Toasteur special, which included 2 eggs, sausages, ham, potatoes, beans, fruit, toast, and French toast. The portions were generous and the cost was $15. Two of us enjoyed freshly squeezed orange juice, while the other two had coffee. Everyone was satisfied with their meal and there were no complaints. The service was friendly and efficient, though a bit amateurish. The restaurant has only one washroom, but it was clean. The decor is simple and the restaurant is quite small. We arrived at 10:30 a.m. and it was already half full.
The coffee was weak and the dishes were overpriced. The restaurant did not feel fresh or clean. Two of us ordered the avocado Benedict and were disappointed to receive small slices of brown, unripe avocado. The pancakes tasted as if they had just been microwaved.
Friendly, but incompetent service: got everything wrong in my breakfast order. Food quality is very poor. Bathroom not very clean.
We come to Le Toasteur quite often as it's in our neighbourhood. There's a large selection of breakfast item including classics such as Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and crepes. It's fast, decent quality, with good service. It's not a place for fancy breakfast or experimental cuisines, but it does the job and we always come back not just for the convenience factor. If you are vegetarian, there are many items that substitute meat with tofu which is appreciated, though soy milk is not available for coffee. In the summer the window/wall that faces rue Laurier is open so the front tables are great for people watching. Will come back (as always).
Very casual and small. My son ordered the French Toast sandwich was perfection! The crepes were alright but the apples tasted off. Would go here again and try something else good vibe
