Reading some of the comments here I was doubting if we really should go, but the (very mixed) crowd in the restaurant we saw an evening before spoke for itself. So we went and took the tastings menu as we were not familiar with dishes. This certainly was a good first choice. It brought us to teff flower/bread for our first time, and it harmonised very well with the spicy dishes. I’m sure, next time I will take a main... View all feedback.
What Glennie Larkin doesn't like about Le Nil Bleu:
We were at Le Nil Blue around 2 pm, so late lunch, early dinner fare. We were the only people in the entire restaurant, and still it took forever to get our order in, then to get our food. The lady who was our waitress...literally would disappear somewhere in the back and I had to get up from the table at least twice to look for her. That was very unprofessional and rude. In addition, it was the most expensive Ethiop... View all feedback.
It was my first time trying Ethiopian food and it was delicious. The staff there are very nice and the place has the elegant yet cozy vibe. I ordered the two courses meal for 3 people and it did not disappoint. At the beginning i thought we didn't have enough but the injera was very filling. The injera was delicious with all the small portions of dipping. Recommended!
I’ve been coming here for years with my wife. Hands down our favourite Ethiopian food in Montreal.Kevin who is one of the veteran severs is a legend and always super nice. I believe it’s the owner herself who comes and takes the payment from you before you go and she too is also very sweet and cares a lot!The food is bomb- we always get the tastings menu for two and are never disappointed.
I've been here quite a few times and am always left with the same conclusion: the food is great, but the service is always a bit lacking. All the dishes are extremely flavorful and nicely presented. Service is always slow and there's always atleast one issue. This time one of us never got their drink order and one of us got served their drink twice by two different waiters and was just expected to pay even though it was their error. On a previous visit we asked to omit the egg in one dish because of one diners food allergy, the dish was served with egg placed on top of the dish quite obviously....so might not be your best bet if you have food allergies. If they ever get the service part of this restaurant right it would be great, but it's been the same issue for yearsVegetarian options: Large selection of vegetarian options
Came here when visiting montreal and enjoyed it! very artful space, good food and very accommodating to vegans! slightly expensive but that would be expected here
This place is beyond amazing! I had the Vegan combo plate for two tasting options and the Vegan Gluten free raspberry chocolate mousse cake. The flavours, textures and variety are all mind blowing!I could eat here everyday and be extremely satisfied with everything they have to offer. The service, ambiance, reception etc are incredible as well. I highly suggest that you go here. You will definitely have a heavenly experience.
