I had the crevettes portuguese and it was amazing - really, really good. My wife had the Portuguese chicken and loved it - both served with salad, Portuguese fries, attentive and friendly staff, and a very reasonable bill. Highly recommended! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Le Grill Barroso:
The day we went to this restaurant, it was quite busy (including those clients ordering to go). We got good service. I liked the "demi-poulet," it was moist and savory; the "côtes levées" however, was dry and bland. Some of the fries were soggy and salty (even if I tried to remove the sea salt). I ended up not eating 2/3 of the fries. I find the "chouriço" a bit dry (not sure if this is how Portuguese chorizos should... View all feedback.
"This place is amazing. The food is great and the service is excellent. Make sure to ask for Roger, he's the best. PS. The octopus is the best in the city."
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This is not Portuguese food! My first time and last time) there I bought whole chickens and when I got home, my jaw dropped but I still gave them a second...chance to redeem themselves but oh was I so wrong...went back and explained to them that the chicken was burnt and not edible (and I was being nice). He apologized, which I appreciated, and offered me two new ones . I gave them a chance to make it better but they just played me for a fool. I have never written any review about anything because no one is perfect and we learn with our mistakes. But all they did was make it worse...hope they can make it better for others but I will not give them that opportunity to fool me a third time
I have visited Lisbon many times and the food at this restaurant reminds me of the local taverns in the city. The prices are very reasonable and the service is decent. The interior is simple with self-seating tables and an open kitchen. We started with olives, small black and delicious, marinated peppers, and mussels in Portuguese sauce, all of which were good portions. For our main dishes, we had grilled sardines and Portuguese roasted chicken, both served with a fresh green salad and a generous portion of fried potato rounds. We also enjoyed two large beers and a liter of house wine, and the total bill came to around CAD, including tip. Although the restaurant is a bit out of the way, it is definitely worth a visit if you are craving authentic Portuguese cuisine at a fair price. I highly recommend it.
If you’re in the area this is THE place for your Portuguese chicken. Excellent value and the friendliest atmosphere it’s like we are family. The price is very good for the amount of food offered. I rather stop in and take out there than go...to St-Hubert that taste like bland run of the mill Swiss chalet for any other bar bq chicken place. I love it and highly recommend it.
We absolutely adored this Portuguese restaurant that served incredibly tasty charcoal BBQ chicken with crispy hot chips instead of fries. The salad with balsamic vinaigrette was also delightful. My husband enjoyed the ribs as well, but he couldn't get enough of the chicken. The atmosphere was pleasant and the restaurant was very clean. Our waiter was friendly with a big smile, and he was very helpful when we mentioned it was our first time there. We noticed that many people come for takeout, so we grabbed a menu on our way out. A week later, we ordered takeout and my husband went to pick up the family combo, only to receive the wrong order. However, when we called to inform them, they were apologetic and offered our next order for free. True to their word, my husband picked up a free takeout supper one week later. We definitely give this restaurant a glowing review.
