Had lunch here. The place is pretty small but clean and bright. We ordered the guacamole dip and two types of tacos. Barbacoa and Shrimp. An order of Lime Aqua Fresca washed everything down. Guacamole was excellent. Tortilla chips were fresh but cut thickly and were very hard but tasty. Tacos were very good. The serving size was huge and the price was right. My only regret was not buying a two dollar plastic luchador... View all feedback.

If you blink, you will miss this place as it has no street facing signage. When we backtracked to find it, the window was so dirty we couldn't tell if it was open...or if it was even still in business! It was open, but other than one other customer the place was empty on a Wednesday for lunch. The furniture is rudimentary and the decor a little too spartan. While the food was good, the portions were too small for the... View all feedback.
The waiter requested payment from me when I placed my order, before we even started eating, despite me informing him that we were dining in. This took me by surprise! I was dining with my family, who were seated outdoors. The food was good, but perhaps overpriced due to the upscale atmosphere and location in Mile End. I believe there are better dining options in Montreal, as I live in Jean Talon where I find the prices to be more affordable.
Arguably the best Mexican restaurant in Montreal, the food feels and is very authentic. The staff is friendly, and the service pretty quick. The food is incredible, extremely recommended.
The fried shrimp tacos at Tamalera are absolutely delicious. The breading is light and perfectly crispy, allowing the shrimp to shine. The pickled veggies on top add a fresh and tasty crunch. The homemade hot sauce is also amazing, packed with flavor (probably fermented habanero). The restaurant is beautiful and the service is top-notch. I rarely write reviews, but I couldn't resist sharing how addicted I've become to their tacos. I need my weekly fix now. Every time I try a different place, I regret it because nothing compares to Tamalera's tacos. Just go and try them for yourself. It's worth it.
This used to be our go-to taco spot, but after reading some reviews about new owners and declining quality, we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the food was not up to par. The tacos looked unappetizing, with raw meat and blood still visible in the filling. Charging $20 for such poor quality is unacceptable. We won't be returning.
So far I had the tortilla soup, watermelon salad, veg tacos (with hibiscus flower), torta de elote (cornmeal caramel cake with ice cream), veg tamale and esquite (corn and cream) and guac with homemade chips. The highlights were the soup and tacos and esquite but everything was delicious and worth trying. I want to come back to try the vegetarian open face sandwich and churros. They also carry a lot of products by the brand Ki Gourmet like the dipping sauces and chocolate bars
