Contribute FeedbackJun I offers high expectations, with mixed results. The Omakase dishes were flavorful, but sushi quality disappointed. Service issues include a lack of communication and inconsistency with reservations. On the upside, it's a cozy spot perfect for dates, with a full menu and knowledgeable staff. The food is fresh and delicious, especially the sashimi. While not cheap, the experience overall is worth it, even attracting Japanese patrons. Reservation recommended. For a unique and delightful sushi experience, Jun I in Montreal is a must-try, with exceptional desserts to top off the meal.
The pandemic has been tough. And long. So small things like takeout from Jun I have made life just a little bit better. We ordered for pick-up this evening. The take-out menu was easy to navigate, and comprehensive. The food ordered, spectacular. So full five...stars! Already looking forward to next week
I never made it to the restaurant but had their sushi twice by take out. I am very difficult about sushi, so I rarely eat them, and these are truly the best in Montreal. Everything is fresh. It may be a bit pricey, but sushi...always is even in the bad places! The menu is not diversified though. They offer a lot of tuna and salmon. It is the only default I can find for them
Cozy but small restaurant, perfect if you go for a date. The place was full when I arrived so I sat at the bar. Large menu to choose from. Recommendations also but ask the waiter. I had the marinated scombre as appetizer. Nice dish well...presented and tasty. Then I had orders of gun kan sushis (tobiko and quail egg, my favorite). Fresh maquerel nigiri. The food was perfect ! I had the crêpe for dessert, it was ok but next time I’ll try something different
Everything about our evening was made special by the exquisite care Juni and his staff put into your experience and meal. One of the best pieces of advice I had read prior to booking my reservation was to sit at the bar. As a couple,...I can't even imagine sitting anywhere else, whether on a first date or an established couple. For me, it's the best seat in the house. At Juni, you can watch the master himself at work, skillfully slicing sashimi and artfully arranging it on wooden slabs and slates. His two sous chefs work alongside him, and each greeted us with friendly smiles. The bar is also the home of the best service, and our waiter was the best of the best. Patient, kind, informative, and exceedingly welcoming. It helped make our evening extra delightful. We ordered so much food, sampling sushis, sashimis, rolls, miso soup, salad, and more. Next time, I wouldn't hesitate to order the Omakase experience. Can't wait to return next time I'm in Montreal
My secret? Jun I is the best sushi in Montreal. Along with some of the best (and most authentic tasting) sushi I've had in my life, each server has exceptional knowledge on what you're about to eat, having you feel informed just like the chef....The Modern European desserts almost outshine the whole sushi! If you’re down for a gorgeous experience, Jun I is the place to go to. :
