Now called Fink Flamingo Bar since June 2016, it is a great place for drinks and some decent food to nibble on. Set in heart of Place Jacques Cartier square it may be a tourist trap for some but for the locals when the streets die down it is a great place to party. Decor is stunning, aura is electric and when I was there in June 2015 food was great. See Montreal foo-foodie website for list of items sampled and picture... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Harlow:
We went there with some friends hoping to find a hoping, trendy restaurant in Old Montreal. It s a great location but that's about it. We were served our food very cold. We ordered 3 bottles of wine and they didn't even have 1 in stock. So we finally drank our fourth choice. The same happened for the beer. Our friend only drinks beer and they only had 1 type of beer available. We didn t even know which person was our... View all feedback.
There are plenty of dining options in Jacque Cartier Plaza, but we were particularly pleased with this restaurant. The interior is newly renovated and apparently gets quite lively on weekend evenings. We sat at the bar and had a friendly chat with the bartender before heading outside to enjoy the view of the plaza and people-watch. Our meal was delicious; we can't remember exactly what we ordered, but the food and service were excellent and we left feeling satisfied.
We stopped at this restaurant for lunch during a heavy rainstorm. The interior had a nightclub-like atmosphere. There was also a covered outdoor seating area, but it was raining too hard to use. The service was outstanding. We ordered the poutine, braised beef risotto, and a burger, all of which were delicious. The drinks were on the weaker side and served in small portions, but this seemed to be common in the other establishments we visited in the area. We particularly enjoyed the refreshing cucumber water that was served.
The food at this restaurant was delicious, especially the watermelon and feta salad which was amazing! However, our waiter seemed overwhelmed and it took 45 minutes to receive our simple order of fish tacos and a burger. Despite the delay, there was no explanation or apology given. It was clear that they needed more staff, especially on a busy weekend in August. Despite this, I would still consider returning just for the delicious watermelon and feta salad.
There is no shortage of places to eat in Jacque Cartier Plaza, however we were really happy with this one. It is newly renovated inside & apparently gets really hoppin' on weekend evenings. We sat at the bar, spoke with a fellow who was very open, friendly & then we went outside to sit & watch the Plaza and people. Our meal was lovely, forget exactly what we had but it was good food & service & we left happy.
