What User doesn't like about Frida Mexican restaurant:
I ordered a tortilla soup and a tilapia taco. The taco was fresh, hot, and decent, but on the small side and nothing special. The tortilla soup arrived within 30 seconds of my order, indicating that it was likely pre-made or sitting out. It was lukewarm at best and was basically just a bowl of broth with a few pieces of avocado and lots of tortilla strips, lacking the typical ingredients like Papilla chiles, Chicharr... I was in the mood for Mexican and was lamenting over how there was nothing really quick and simple in Montreal let alone close to my house... to my surprise my GF rang in after a kick google that there was the place around the corner she saw the last time she was in town. For some reason we decided to trek out in the rain and check it out and wow were we happy we did!Frida has a small menu with a few unadvertised specials so be sure to ask what is going on in the kitchen. The restaurant is small, may seating 20 people across 6 tables or so and everything is really nice. It has a really home feeling, with all the chatter and noise you would expect from a family diner and the food is really amazing.Simple and fresh, everything we had was fantastic. Probably the best guacamole and chorizo tacos I have ever had.Friendly, fresh and reasonably priced!Check it out :)J

Who's thrilled there are more authentic Mexican options than in decades pastI am, I amNow the problem is how to find the time to try them all.
Apparently, for want of serious competition in the taco game, the family that runs Cafe Frida on Notre Dame has decided that they are the only people in the
Limited menu consisting of tacos and quesadillas, which ended up being very similarThe tortilla soup was watery and had a fake broth taste.
