I had dinner at this restaurant early in the evening, so there was no wait. The restaurant is relatively small, so it can get crowded during peak times. The service was quick and friendly. The fried dumplings were a standout dish, very juicy and perfectly seasoned. The bao was also delicious, with fried onions adding a nice contrast to the tender pork. The noodles were simple but tasty, with a sweet soy sauce. Overal... View all feedback.
What Emily Francisco doesn't like about Chef Lee:
Menu wasn’t as extensive as I thought it be. Menu primarily focuses on baos, and soup. Baos were good, could have been better but I did arrive 1 hour before closing … Sake, beer, are the alcoholic beverages offered. Very casual. Parking was difficult because it’s located in Chinatown. Baos are about $6-7 (Canadian) each. It would be nice if they had more options for baos. View all feedback.
You will not get better bao than this in montreal. much better than satay bros. in quality, quantity, variety and taste. on st. patrick’s day there was a short trip. although I'm not a big lover of fried chicken, but the garlic chicken has not disappointed. the garlic was not exaggerated and the bread was so fresh. for vegetarier has chef lee also great choices. beautiful decor, quick service and friendly staff?
Really good fried bao! They're warm and crispy, yet still very juicy inside! All of the bao dough are super soft. Went for a late night snack, staff is super friendly and fast service. 10/10 rec
Very nice interior decor and good service! I got the hong shao pork belly bun, the meat was very good! I also ordered a small wonton soup, the warmth felt very good after walking in the cold, however it was rather salty. They also have a few vegetarian options! 100% would come back again!
Good buns and quick service, clean and spacious environment. Good for a quick lunch or afternoon snacks with your partner.
We absolutely loved this place. As you walk in they have a takeout window for pickup and ordering. The restaurant is clean, brightly light and nicely decorated. The menu is small but there is enough to choose from. Since we went for lunch, we ordered one lunch special and one a la carte Bao.The special consisted of a soup, in my case won ton, and a fried garlic chicken bun. Both were delicious. The soup was loaded with won tons, a few thinly sliced egg noodles, coriander and a small piece of seaweed. The bun wrap was light, fluffy and pully. The chicken was not greasy, but super tender and crispy. The garlic was only in the garlic mayo drizzled on top. Then, the Pork Bao was soft, perfectly cooked and super delicious. We added some soya sauce and chili oil to spice it up and add a bit of flavor. All in all this is a great go to for lunch or a quick snack.
