Working in the area, we have frequented this restaurant often. Great pizzas, and italian dishes. Their soups are great and the bread servings of small pieces of nan bread or similar are difficult to leave. View all feedback.
What Gabriella Lehner doesn't like about Carveli Restaurant:
I phoned after noon to order lasagna-I ordered it once before and it was super!! The lasagna that arrived was ice cold-had been sitting somewhere for quite a while and the cheese was one hard mass on top- and the pita chip things they are famous for came in a soggy lump-went right into the garbage. The salad was warm and had almost no dressing or maybe there was none-it also went into the trash. What a huge disappoint... View all feedback.
I am sure this place is only open after all these years because it's basically the only resto in the neighborhood. My favorite has always been the fried peta appetizer. From there it's ... well.. fast food. I had the souvlaki. Little pieces of semi-tough pork with chunks of fat hanging off of the pieces. You get a salad which is just iceberg lettuce. Nothing else. The fried potatoes and rice were good though. If they still have a shrimp dish in a white sauce (garlic?) avoid it. Corn starch , water and garlic is a sauce BASE. It shouldn't be a sauce in itself. I also had steak on a precious visit. Way overspiced which only means it was not fresh.the garlic butterfly shrimp was also a dud. Obviously frozen with breadcrumbs and garlic. Very little spicing. These chefs have no creativity at all. The house wine ? Don't even ask. The wait staff is great though. If you don't want to cook and you live in cote st luc , and don't want to travel .. then you might as well eat here.
The waiter didn't smile ever, the food was tasteless & greasy and inside quite tacky. I guess we won't return there.
Went with a couple of buddies the other day. Just wanted a place to hang out for a while and eat a reasonable dinner. Sometimes restaurants in your area that are not "trendy" may be overlooked. This place has been around many years and although not fancy or trendy, the food is good, portions large and the prices are very reasonable. Table d'hote - soup and salad, mains include rice, potatoes are about $12-$15. BTW, the soup is very good and the toasted pita chips are really good. If you ask nicely you can even get a basket of garlic pita chips. Lots of choices - Greek, Italian, pizza, steak, seafood etc etc.

What a huge disappointment. What a waste of money and I had tipped the delivery person well over %20 Too bad for me!
Moved to the area a few years ago. And tonight just wanted some easy comfort food. Decided on lasagna and chose Carveli. Wow, came super hot, super fast and generous portion of delicious lasagna. I really enjoyed the salad and fried pita that accompanied it. It was a great experience and now that I know the restaurant am sure i will order from there again. Thanks Carveli's
