We happened upon this place for a light lunch. We ordered the soup of the day which was cream of broccoli, the arrabbiata escargots, and the calamari. All were excellent. The escargots was my favorite. View all feedback.
For our meal, we started with the soup of the day, which turned out to be a delicious mystery squash soup. The generous portion was warm and flavorful, making it the perfect choice on a cold day. Then, we enjoyed the Suprême de poulet aux cèpes, a dish of tender chicken in a rich mushroom gravy served with penne pasta. The flavors were bold and comforting, although the steamed vegetables were a bit bland for our taste. The highlight of our meal was the Linguine aux fruits de mers, a seafood linguine dish that we declared as one of the best pasta dishes we've ever had. The perfectly cooked linguine paired excellently with the spiced seafood sauce, tender shrimp, calamari, and clams, leaving us completely satisfied. Overall, Café Trattoria offered rich, hearty, and soul-warming Italian dishes at a reasonable price, just a short walk from the bustling tourist attractions in Montreal. We highly recommend stopping by for lunch, as the restaurant is only open from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. If you find yourself in Montreal, don't miss out on the opportunity to dine at this delightful little spot.
This traditional Italian trattoria in Old Montreal exceeded the expectations of my guests from Italy. I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for several years, as it is conveniently located across the street from my former workplace in Old Montreal. Despite their limited business hours for lunch on weekdays, they always manage to stay busy. The menu offers a selection of about a dozen items each day, but the variety and quality of the dishes is outstanding. The service is friendly and efficient. I would rate this restaurant a solid 10 out of 10!
This is my place when I visit the Old Port. Home-made food at a very reasonable price, honest service as if you were dining at friends', authentic Italian joint where nothing is fancy but everything comes from the heart. I recommend both for lunch or dinner.
Dropped in while searching for a quiet lunch after a long morning of walking. The white house wine was excellent, the gazpacho was cold & tasty and the salad with warm goat cheese was a continual discovery of good flavors. Maybe we were just worn out with looking for a good place, but we loved it and could see why locals do too.
Petite trattoria familiale. Atmosphère charmant et bonne bouffe. Par contre c'est assez dispendieux pour un lunch. Il y a une table d'hôte le midi et plusieurs choix à la carte.J'adore le linguini aux crevettes.
