With over a dozen different varieties just sit your derrière on the counter and order a mixed dozen. Be nice and the "mother shucker" might make it a Bakers and add #13! You will have a nice pit stop from walking and show you can actually taste the difference between each different local. It's all about the ocean water! View all feedback.
What Lauretta Ondricka doesn't like about Aqua Mare La Poissonnerie Gourmet:
Went to the Jean-Talon market for fresh tuna and this shop is a well displayed fishmonger shop. The only problem that exists is that I failed to smell the tuna before the clerk wrapped in tight. The tuna displayed very well but after the package was open there was the sure tell sign of not so fresh tuna and a significant price. I will shop for fish again at this great market site but I will smell for freshness first... View all feedback.
Located in the Marche Jean Talon, La Boîte Aux Huitres provides delicious oysters at very good prices. We had the special of the day - 1 dozen shucked oysters for $12. The sauces provided were delicious. The only problem is they disappear very quickly. This is a small stand but there is plenty of seating provided at the bar and near-by.
Tripped across this place while touring JT marché. Very glad we did. Very good oysters and some charismatic shuckers to watch while you hang around and people watch at this busy market. Order some calamari from the place right next door and make a meal of it.Only complaint was that it isn't licensed.
Great food worth the wait !! The oysters were great wide variety and fresh ! Little wiat need, but not a blocker!
This is the first stop of my much anticipated endeavor to Montreal, which in my humble opinion has surpassed Lyon France as the gastronomic capital of the free world - and for good reason: The Quebecois put their heart, soul, and genius into that plate of food placed before you!Restauranteur Phil and sous chef Nikita put their love of fine culinary adaption into their oyster creations.Their very fine oysters hail from all over the globe. The oysters are very reasonably priced with a wonderful but mild fresh horseradish garnish. My favorite oysters were the "Glacier Bay" that has the size, saltiness that you crave. These oysters are similar to Virginia, Texas and Apalachicola, Florida oysters available for you at the Jean-Talon Marche (Market). "Let them shuck them so you can suck them down with fresh lemon!" A great place to start your seafood journey-
Oysters from everywhere. Fresh and delicious. Friendly staff shucks oysters to your order. This open air stall was at Marche Jean Talon and seats less than 10, but turnover is fairly swift.
