Sitting on the street at lunch time watching the world go by, thankfully before the busy tourist season, was a joy. But the cold beef, salad, veg and chips were a delight! The beef melted in the mouth and was really succulent. Two of our party had a little selection of desserts with an espresso which filled them to bursting, but they said slight discomfort was worth every tasty mouthful. The staff were very smiley an... What dick h doesn't like about Bar Les Arcades:
We stopped here for lunch, while we explored this delightful little town. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive, and the menu offered a decent, basic menu. The atmosphere was good, and what was a telling sign forme was that the guide from a world famous local cave dwelling exhibition that we'd just been to, popped in for his lunch too I like the local recommendations : View all feedback.
I was travelling to my friends house in Luxembourg when I had to stop for a wee wee. The man in the toilet was very friendly and told me about this wonderful place called le restaurant. I don’t speak much Finnish but I did manage to get the directions. When I arrived,I was made to sit on a chair in front of a wooden table. The funny little man then gave me something to read that read “Menu”. It was utter gobbledegook to me so I just started to sing bah bah black sheep to him. He then said “ah ok !” And scurried back into the “noise chamber “. 35 minutes later he handed me a plate with the most gigantic piece of lamb on it. It was very nice but it did taste like garlic (horrible stuff). I asked him if he could speak English but he shook his heads and handed me a brass tap. He then dragged me into a room where he presented me with a small piece of paper that he had been working on. It was fabricated but fabulously thick enough. I had a lovely lunch here and will come back next time I’m in the french embassy. Well done .clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap claps clap clap clap clap clap clapped clap claps clap clap claps.

The waitress was very helpful given our limited French. She was very apologetic that the kitchen was closed and she could only offer drinks which was fine since we were only interested in drinks and a light snack anyway. The wine was very good and inexpensive. The thing to remember about doing anything in Europe, not just France is that smoking is much more prevalent than in North America and it can quickly change something from a wonderful experience to utterly unpleasant when people start lighting up all around you.
