I'm lowering the rating a bit for certain reasons. But let's start with the very delicate and subtle cuisine. The tableware is really in the spotlight and highlights the dishes. Where it's really a shame is the chairs. Personally, I couldn't stand sitting on this anymore. And the second downside is the menu with the wine pairing... if there was a deci per glass, it was a drop. The boss apparently has a happier hand. And serving a montheysans (yuk) wine for the main course does not highlight the work in the kitchen.

As always an exceptional moment, an enchanted interlude on the heights of Monthey where the subtleties of the cuisine and the pairings take our palate soaring not far from paradise! We have been going to this Berra café for 13 years and not once have we been disappointed…! It’s truly one of my favorite addresses in French speaking Switzerland! You have to go for it! We took the Discovery Lunch Menu 150. without cheese, it’s the cost of ecstasy but given the quality of the cuisine and the products, I’m really happy to spend them ;

Beautiful setting and very pleasant service. Great oenological discoveries. Beautiful dishes. The cuisine does not deserve 1 star… The two appetizers are great. The venison main course is excellent, but without surprise or fantasy. Too much sweetness in the other dishes. A beetroot dish (so hearty, you really have to love beetroot) with different varieties, but all cooked the same way, with no play on textures. Beautiful plate of cheese, there is everything and too much to be gourmet. And here comes dessert... the thing that really ends up ruining the meal: among other things, ginger ice cream (terrible) and a sauce that just tasted like alcohol. No one at our table could finish dessert (and they tried, out of politeness). It wasn't the sweet treats that helped the situation either (e.g. sage cream and too bitter yuzu sorbet). In short, we do not recommend and will not return.
