What User doesn't like about Don García:
Stuffed pepper good. Waiter nice. Prices charged were a little higher than on the menu. Also, not clear at all that they didn't take Visa (every other place in the Montevideo does), which made us pay exchange rate cash and miss out on the 18% discount. Excellent steak. share one if they don't want to be full. grill in view. boiled on wood dish and delicate
Excellent prepared meat, side dishes not as good but made fully irrelevant by the main dishes. Also very good value for the cost.
Nice meat and good attention from the hosts. And all of them with a quite affordable price compared to its competitor's. BUT don't ever go for fish here; takes ages to prepare it and when it comes it lacks of any flavor. Stick to the red meat.
Good Ancho, good morcilla, good chorizo and good fries. I was worried about being disappointed with the meat at the mercado, or about paying tourist prices, but neither was true this was a great experience with very good food at good prices for the tourist nature of the location. I had several steaks while in Montevideo and the beef I had at Don García was among the best. The atmosphere was lively and entertaining as well.
