Trattoria Del Borgo - Monteveglio

Imagine you are climbing an almost steep, almost wild road, (almost) at dusk. Imagine yourself standing in front of an imposing, tall door of an abbey, surrounded by its fortified walls. Imagine yourself in a medieval village, the stones caressing your feet and guiding your steps. Imagine yourself walking into the warm light, laughter and warm scents. Imagine yourself savouring local, inventive and tasty cuisine in a serene atmosphere. You're at Trattoria del borgo.

We were struggling to find somewhere to eat as it was a busy Saturday night and most restaurants were fully booked, but we walked into this place and luckily they had a table free. The decor was very cosy and traditional, and the staff welcoming. We ordered seafood spaghetti and ravioli in walnut sauce for first course, then steak with rocket and cod with leeks for mains. The dishes were tasty, though a bit pricier than other comparable restaurants. The atmosphere would have been improved by turning off the TV which was quite loud and distracting.

We were visiting our daughter and her partner took us to this restaurant and we were thoroughly delighted with the food service, probably some of the best food we have eaten in Italy we have been many times! . The location is right on top on a hill, so probably has some amazing views in the day time!

Not just food, an experience! Lovely staff! They really have an eye for details. If you’re looking for a fake fancy place this is not the right one for you. Authenticity is the perfect word to describe them
