Sorafune - Monterey Park

A truly authentic Japanese restaurant. My family absolutely enjoys the food.

As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were struck by how clean and almost brand-new it looked, despite the fact that it had been in operation for at least seven years. Unlike many lower-quality sushi spots, there was no unpleasant "fishy" smell. The decor was tidy and reflected a subtle Japanese theme. A friendly waiter showed us to the counter where the chef was busy preparing our sushi, which he made in no time. The chef even accommodated my boyfriend’s specific preferences (as he isn’t a fan of avocado) by crafting a special sushi roll for him at no extra charge. The food was fresh and incredibly delicious. Prices were reasonable, although my boyfriend and I ended up ordering much more than we initially intended and were quite full by the end. Overall, I will definitely be returning to this restaurant frequently for its cleanliness, fresh food, beautiful presentation, and the warm hospitality of the staff.

The chirashi at this restaurant is incredible and very generous in portion size! The food tastes genuinely authentic, thanks to the chef from Japan. I went there with my girlfriend a few days ago, and we ordered a lot because everything was so fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this place!

Might just be the best sushi in Monterey Park!
