What Victor Castillo doesn't like about Nbc Seafood:
I have mixed feelings about the place. Service was excellent food for the most part was good, I just didn't like the fact that on scallops and asparagus the scallops were sliced thin(obviously an attempt to get more from one scallop)but the biggest disappointment was the chicken fried rice it had NO FLAVOR, maybe because they didn't fry the rice(just used steamed rice)and didn't use salt or whatever else they should'... I love nbc (the canal, but I love the restaurant even more! Every time we visit our grandparents, we tend to eat in a few places, but primarily NBC Restaurant (not that we complain! . Even when we came lunch after Thanksgiving, we did not really stop at the food. Now the details... the restaurant itself is HUGE and there are tons of tables. It looks good, but due to its size, the sound can somehow become loud. On busy days, although it's big, it can wait a bit. However, there is a reason for this waiting, and it is the upper Notch Dim sum. They have a great variety, and a ton of cars are going around. We literally had 3-5 dishes after we had set ourselves (see courts below). Food quality and price overcomes the noise problem. From previous experiences, dinner is also good. They have a spectacular crab shell where there are bright lights in the crab shell for the eyes! NBC is so versatile.
NBC definitely ranks as one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. They have a wide range of dimming sum, and they are all really delicious. I could go into detail about certain dishes, but I have different preferences, and all are delicious anyway. It is also really cool how customers can order large amounts of dim sums to go, so they have a store of food at home or do not want to eat there. Sure to say this service is abused. = D If you come to dinner if there is no dimming sum, they still have good food. Most dishes are traditional Chinese dishes, but I and family got a flashy, expensive crab bowl. They put flashing lights on the shell for eyes! It was also very delicious, especially the crab noodles. Anyway, if you like Chinese food at all, this is the place to go, although the location is not the best and there is always a waiting period.
MPK best. This place is regularly packed and ridiculously packed on weekends. Known for their large dimming sum and fairly decent prices, NBC is what is cheap / good Chinese MPK food is all. It is probably one of the most popular Dimm-Summe Square in real Asian ghetto. This MPK stable has been for years, the weather of the difficult and ultra competitive environment MPK. Only the best of the best survive in the Asian culinary materpiece, that is the MPK lifter. MP Kers are known for their demanding palates, and many have accumulated a restaurant to move or close elsewhere to serve less than stellar food. The regular menu items in this place are also great, and seafood elements dominate overwhelming.
I have tried my fair share of dim-sum restaurants over the years, and NBC is by far one of the best. somehow, consistently fresh, tasty and offers a variety of dishes. You will get the true dim sum experience with the shopping cart. the best to go into large groups so you can try a whole lot of everything. the place is now rebuild, expands its already large multi-room location, so parking can be a little pain. despite its expansive size, there is always a long waiting time on the weekends. It seems that if I try a dim-sum place, I inevitably compare it with NBC and nothing ever manages to get close. I ate by the sea... I thought NBC was better.
