Kelley's Bakery - Monterey Park

What a charming little place! I never visited until now. My husband ordered the Cookie Monster shake, while I chose the ice cream sandwich made with giant macaroons. The cakes they make are adorable as well!

I had a tough day at work today and needed to treat myself to a delicious pastry, so I headed to Caked LA! I love the variety they offer; they don't serve the same items all the time, which is fantastic! Now that I've enjoyed my pastry, I feel so much more relaxed—phew! Haha!

This was my first time visiting, and I noticed a somewhat limited variety of cakes, cookies, ice cream, and shakes on offer. The cupcakes were on the pricey side, ranging from $3.50 to $5.00. Although the cupcake was tasty and moist, the frosting had a whipped cream-like texture. I realize it may not have been reasonable to expect buttercream icing for this type of cupcake, but I think it would have greatly improved the flavor. Overall, I found that the delightful presentation of the treats was more striking than the taste itself.

We have been coming here for years, since it was just Kelly's Bakery, and the fruit tarts are exceptional. The store has been beautifully updated as well.

My sister got me a unicorn cake from this place, and I absolutely loved it! The best part was that the entire cake was not only beautiful but also delicious. I'm very happy with it!
