We only had a quick coffee there but: the service was prompt and they gave us a small glass of fizzy water, which you MUST drink before the coffee itself. The meaning behind is to clean your tastebuds. It’s not something so common unfortunately and highly appreciated. The location is fantastic, obviously. What Wannes Vandenbulcke doesn't like about Gelateria Duomo:
We had ordered 5 ice tea and 1 sprite, only the sprite was with ice cubes and 1 ice tea was chilled. The other 4 ice teas were lukewarm/warm. € 18.50 in total, we think is quite expensive for hot soft drinks. Location is great. PS: the male waiter was very friendly and spoke good English. They feel they can treat the customer badly because they are the only bar in the Piazza di Montepulciano. A tip, change the waitress with black hair, customer service under zero, it seems you are bothering her (only we sat down to drink 6 coffee and 3 bottles of water and its answer was but you have to sit right here?
