During our stay at the “Varzinn Hotel”, we enjoyed our evening meal in the restaurant “O Marineiro” – who is located at 250 meters from the hotel. Foi a terceira vez que comi lampreia mas a primeira que gostei ! Estava deliciosa, adorei. Ambiente muito simpático e óptimo serviço. A repetir, sem dúvida.
If you love seafood then this is definitely one to go to. Despite the 'sailors ' uniforms on the staff and the somewhat 'posh ' interior, the welcome is quite warm despite the slightly faded front façade. We ordered our meals but got something quite different however having seen what was brought to us we were amazed with the quality and portion sizes of the rather large sharing casserole dish full of cod, potatoes, onions etc. Incredibly good value as well less than 50Eu for two including drinks. I would visit again and not be put off they are delivering a high quality food service and despite the quietly spoken, reserved clientele, it is a seafood paradise with good food at great prices.
