This tucked-away restaurant is located in an ancient building. The brick arched ceilings and walls do not hide the age. Apparently the space was a stable in another lifetime but now it is a cute little restaurant with great service. I tried their rabbit, thinking it would be a stew, so I was quite surprised when the rabbit came out in a 'fried-chicken ' manner with a leg, breast, etc. The rabbit was stuffed with a fennel-tasting stuffing that I 'm sure also contained offal, but it tasted great and went down smoothly. I paired with a red house wine and a green salad. I wish the salad has more veggies in it, so I would get a different salad next time. They have a 15 euro special, a truffle pasta when I was there, and if the place has room, it 's worth a try if you are hungry.
I would like to give this restaurant a one star, but will bump it up to two only for how pretty it is inside. The problem is with everything else. First, the waiter was very sick, constantly coughing into his hands and then proceeding to serve food. There seemed to be only one cook, and he was smoking while he worked. Second, the courses were served ungracefully, without serving utensils, and the main course was served before the first course. The veal we ordered was cold, and when I told the waiter, he just shrugged and walked away. The house red wine was nowhere near as good as other restaurants, and the food was tasteless. The spinach we ordered on the side tasted like it had been frozen, then overcooked. In a country that is known for the freshness of its cuisine, this is the worst dinner we have had. I should be giving this a one star, but when you walk in, you know someone has put energy into making it look great. Too bad the cook and waiters aren't on the same page as the decorator.
