Starbucks - Montclair

The staff at this restaurant are very friendly, but it’s clear that the place has definitely seen better days. The tables appear worn, and there’s litter on the floor. I feel for the employees; it's obvious what type of neighborhood this is, especially considering the password-protected restrooms and the diverse crowd that comes in for a venti iced water at Starbucks. It seems like Starbucks is the one keeping property values up in the area, and I really wish customers would take more responsibility for keeping the place tidy. Thank goodness for Starbucks!

I wouldn’t recommend stopping by this Starbucks before work, as it may cause delays. While most Starbucks locations operate smoothly, this one often has staff that seem disorganized. Unfortunately, that has been my experience every time. Additionally, the employees are usually unfriendly, with only a couple being exceptions. I used to go to this location often because it was convenient, but it no longer feels worth it. Sorry!

I just got off the bus and walked to the front door, only to find the new hours posted: Saturday from 5 AM to 6 PM. When I tried to enter, the door was locked. Checking my phone, I saw it was only 5:30 PM. A security guard then informed me that the store was closed. When I asked why—since the sign indicated it was open until 6 PM—he told me I would have to use the drive-thru. I explained that I had just arrived by bus, and his response was simply, "I don't know what to tell you," before he closed the door. I usually visit this Starbucks a few times a week after work, and this isn't the first time I've encountered rudeness from the guard. I won’t be returning to this Starbucks again.

The restrooms at this location are closed to the public. The posted hours are also incorrect, and overall, this location has been quite disappointing for a long time. It's hard to understand how Starbucks can be in this state, especially when they are reporting record profits and have more money than they can manage.

I've only used the drive-thru at this location, and I've had a great experience each time. The service is quick and friendly. I usually stop by between 7 AM and 9 AM on weekdays, and I’ve never had to wait long. I mostly place mobile orders, and my drinks are always just the right temperature when I get to the window. I also like that the parking lot and drive-thru area have plenty of room, unlike some other locations where it's cramped. Overall, I've been very pleased with my visits to this restaurant.
