What Gertrude Mann doesn't like about Egan and Sons:
Mother's Day 2023. What a complete disappointment. The food was really bland. No flavor to be found. I ordered the cod tacos, my daughter the sliders and my son the steak tacos. I tried theirs as well. Probably the worst food I've ever eaten. $70 down the drain. Never again. Horrible. View all feedback.
During the Christmas week we enjoyed a delicious outdoor dinner at Egan Sons. The heaters in the lower tables, but not at the high tops. I had the Angus Slider for $12 a real bargain. My friends ordered the Cobb salad, the beet salad and a Cheeseburger. Everyone was happy.

These salads were HUGE, and I will never complain that I get a lot of delicious food for a reasonable price. It was clean, loved the atmosphere. Would definitely return from Jersey City for another meal and good mood.
My husband and I enjoyed lunch at St. Patrick's Day. This place was highly recommended by friends. Best cottage hands down!! We're coming back!

Great food, drinks, prices, and atmosphere. The menu variety makes it a perfect place to take visiting friends or family (if they eat meat, they have to try the chicken pot pie). Mike A is the best server, he’s an absolute sweetheart! Sometimes we stop by just to say hi to Mike A. If you’re a fan of UK sports or TV shows they have you covered. If there isn’t room (COVID aside obvi) there is never a long wait if you’re willing to sit at a high top or the bar. In good weather or with proper layers, the back patio can’t be beat. The owners and their commitment to the experience are part of the heartbeat and community of Montclair. Both dine-in and take-out are done with care. Update: we celebrated our engagement here and once again the staff delivered 110%. Due to the timing of my proposal I wasn’t able to give them an exact time, but alas they saved us an amazing table and made our very special day absolutely brilliant. Marie, our server was so kind and thoughtful, as were the hosts and again, Mike! I can’t recommend Egan’s more for special moments and wonderful food shared with the people you love!
