At Ray's Pege, the experience is a mixed bag reminiscent of its former glory. While friendly service and a cozy atmosphere are constants, the food quality varies. Was User at Ray's Pege a mag?
Our server was excellent, keeping our drinks filled and ensuring we had everything we needed. The fries were freshly cut and delicious. The po-boys were tasty, with a beautiful bread, perfect amount of lettuce and tomatoes. The only thing that could have been improved was if there was more meat. Overall, we enjoyed our visit as we sat outside with our dog Spike. View all feedback.

What User dislikes about Ray's Pege:
the customer service was good, but the meal was not so good I got the country fried steak, maybe I ordered the wrong one. the rolls were old, I just flew them in the müll. I remember when this place was really good and cheap. perhaps they had only a bad day, so will I give them a try again?. View all feedback.

I was driving through Louisiana and stopped in Monroe, where I found out that this restaurant was renowned for their po-boys. I tried the fried shrimp po-boy with fried okra, and it was amazing. My brother had the same but with fries, and we both enjoyed our meals. The food came with its own unique flavor that was delicious. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5-star rating is because the atmosphere was a bit untidy and not very welcoming. However, the service was excellent. I originally ordered my meal with fries, but then wanted to change it to okra. The staff member behind the counter was accommodating and made the change without any issues, even though the okra was slightly more expensive. The other menu items, like the burgers, also looked tempting. Whenever they are in town, I would definitely recommend stopping by this restaurant.

I have been dining at this restaurant for years. We didn't dine in, but ordered takeout from their convenient drive-thru window that I love. They also have a small but lovely outdoor seating area. We have enjoyed dining in the past, but it was too windy that day so we had to get our food to go. We ordered burgers and curly fries. The food was good, but not as amazing as I remembered it to be. They have changed their recipe for the bread, and it isn't as flavorful as before. Despite this, the staff was friendly and said they were working to improve. I would give them another try in the future.

Eating at Ray's Pege has become a tradition for me and my father whenever we visit my grandmother in Monroe. This holiday season, I am visiting her on my own but I didn't want to skip our tradition. When I walked into the cozy restaurant, the friendly atmosphere instantly made me feel welcome. I decided to try the Philly po-boy with curly fries and didn't have to wait long for my meal. Despite being located by the highway, the atmosphere both inside and outside was surprisingly peaceful. The po-boy was absolutely delicious, especially when dipped in the gravy. The fries were hot, crispy, and tasty whether eaten with gravy or ketchup.
