What Elise V doesn't like about Parish Restaurant Bar:
Service was HORRIBLE. They were not friendly and treated us with very little respect. Food was okay, not the best. Most of our food came out cold but the flavor was good! Duck wraps were a 10/10. This is definitely not my favorite choice, and it wouldn't be my first choice restaurant. Overall environment was good, so maybe we just picked a bad night but I would give it a 5/10. Best meal ever from start to finish! We had deviled eggs duck for appetizers. Then tuna red fish for entree. Then we had bread pudding cheese cake for dessert. It was all cooked to perfection. I absolutely would not change a thing. Thomas was our server he was great. 5 stars hands down. We eat at a lot of really nice restaurants if there was 6 stars available I would give it to them. We will definitely be back!
The food here is exceptional! The dishes are unique and unlike any other restaurant in the area. Every time I eat here the food tastes amazing. The menu constantly changes but the roasted Brussel sprouts appetizer is a mainstay and you can’t go wrong with them. The lemon meringue pie is always on the menu and it will remind you of a cherished family recipe; it should, it was Cory’s grandfather’s recipe.Parish is the downtown Monroe brainchild of Chef Cory Bahr, a culinary leader in Louisiana with numerous accolades under his belt. The food is outstanding and the restaurant vibe is contemporary casual with an intimate atmosphere that is still open and airy. There’s also a great fenced patio area for dining alfresco when the weather cooperates.Cory changes the menu weekly depending on what’s in season. He uses primarily locally/regionally sourced ingredients to create amazingly delicious dishes. By keeping the menu simple he can create new dishes based on what’s available on any given week while staying true to his vision of offering an innovative take on classic Southern dishes. The menu always includes appetizers, a couple of salads, two or three fresh pasta dishes (they make the pasta in house) and six to eight entrees along with several dessert options. The drink menu includes a number of house specialties along with select beers. The wine list is built around options which pair well with Cory’s food. Parish also offers an extensive whiskey selection.
Phenomenal experience from the time I walk in until I waddle out. The hospitality, the atmosphere, the service, the libations and the FOOD!!! OHHHHH THE FOOD!!! If you are a local and have not experienced this gem, run there and thank me later. If you are visiting Funroe, please do yourself a favor and have a culinary experience that will leave your taste buds dancing. I appreciate the seasonal food and drink specials, you never know what you may get but I have yet to be disappointed!
Great rotating menu selection, and variety you probably can’t find anywhere else in north Louisiana. Also, impressive wine selection that won’t completely break the bank (found a tasty Pomerol). The wait staff is well-trained and seem to strive to actually share their knowledge and provide great customer service…not to mention they were working as a team!
My absolute favorite restaurant! High quality delicious cuisine! They have great wine, great handcrafted cocktail, delicious unique dishes, innovative desserts!
