This was our first time ordering from Flo's but it will not be our last. We ordered a large variety and everything was delicious. As vegetarians, we seldom have too much to choose from but at Flo's we have quite a selection. Elliot was a pleasure to talk to when ordering. We kept asking questions and changing our minds and Elliot was so helpful and patient. Thank you Flo's for a wonderful lunch (and leftovers! . We a... View all feedback.
What Ian N doesn't like about Flo's Mideast Bistro Bagels:
This is just a review of the bagels, which is half the name so I expected them to have it nailed. I was told a fresh batch had just come out, and the bag was warm, so I was really excited. Unfortunately, these bagels had no outside crust and were so soft that cutting them just smushed them. Flavor was ok, and they got a lot of everything seasoning on there, but the texture was all wrong. For cream cheese the option w... View all feedback.
The staff member was friendly, but I specifically asked for "lite" ketchup, and he confirmed my request. Unfortunately, what I got was the exact opposite: there was an excessive amount of ketchup smeared all over the top and bottom of the roll. I’ve never seen so much ketchup, even when I didn’t ask for it to be light. I struggled to get through more than two bites.
I am so excited that we finally have a distinct alternative to the many pizzerias in our area. The falafel and gyros here are outstanding; just be prepared to use a fork and knife for the enormous gyro! I've been focusing on trying the diverse menu items that you don't find often elsewhere. For instance, I ordered shakshuka—I had to look it up to see what it was, and I’m so glad I did! Their cold salads are fantastic; everything is homemade. I highly recommend the baba ganoush—it's one of the best I've ever had, and I order it every time—along with the fool mademas, roasted cauliflower with tahini, and the creamy feta and roasted pepper dip, which is absolutely heavenly. The grape leaves are also large and flavorful. Plus, the owner is a fantastic guy, and the prices are very reasonable—$5 for a gyro and fries lunch special, and just $7 for two cold salads with two warm pitas. This place is truly a gem!
This restaurant offers an incredible breakfast sandwich. The Watering Hole, which includes bacon, pork roll, and sausage, was outstanding. I’m really glad I found this place; it’s definitely going to be my new favorite bagel shop in Monroe. I highly recommend their bagels! I haven’t tried the other menu items yet, but I have no doubt they’re just as tasty.
This weekend, I took my 8-year-old to a restaurant that you might easily miss since it's located in a strip mall, but it's definitely worth a visit. The owner, Elliott, was incredibly friendly and shared some great stories about his Brooklyn roots and what inspired him to open a Mediterranean restaurant that also offers delicious bagels. I'm already excited to return and try more dishes—perhaps some grape leaves with a bagel on the side. I think that would make a perfect pairing!
This was our first time ordering from Flo's, and it definitely won't be our last. We sampled a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. As vegetarians, we often encounter limited choices, but at Flo's, we had a great selection to choose from. Elliot was a pleasure to talk to while placing our order. We had numerous questions and changed our minds a few times, but Elliot was extremely helpful and patient throughout it all. Thank you, Flo's, for a wonderful lunch (and some tasty leftovers!). We're excited to explore more of the menu soon.
