I've never had Mediterranean food before this year, so we tried. old, here it is good! we got gyros and an order of fried cheese, and everything was amazing!

Our dinner and service was phenomenal. I had the vegetarian plate, he had the 3 lamb shanks plate, and the babaganouch. We were the only ones in there tonight since it was an hour til closing but we had such a wonderful experience! Sad that they are no longer in the bigger building on 18th street, but I'm glad they did relocate and reopen.

Comfortable, peaceful atmosphere with the best change of pace cuisine in the area. Food presentation is always appealing and portion size is always 'just right ': enough to satisfy one 's appetite without leaving you stuffed. Staff is attentive withoutbeing an annoying nuisance. If one is unfamiliar with menu items, wait staff is knowledgeable and helpful in giving adequatedescription of menu items. Athena is one of the best dining options in the Monroe area.

I want to start by noting that I ordered my food to go. I don't care what restaurant it is, if you order your food to go it is not nearly as good. That being said, the food was subpar. I felt my chicken was a bit dry and the hummus was a bit runny. Thehummus did have a good flavor though and I loved the feta salad. The waitress was very polite and welcoming. There wasn't anyonein the restaurant because I was having a very late lunch, but I was surprised not to see anyone even on a Sunday. I would liketo go again and eat on location. I will update my review accordingly.
