this is a beautiful bar/restaurant in the center of monforte. it has a large selection of local wine, and the tapas list is excellent with a large number of vegetarian and meat-based options. the only problem (and it's a big problem) is the service....We saw a single waiter fight to manage a large number of tables. he did so brilliant, but we had to wait one, of course. this is not fair and not efficient, and the own... The centro del vino sells a large selection of wines from the surroundings of ribeira sacra. a coworker speaks well English and helped us find bottles of producers near where we were. the prices were something about bodega and local cafes...Levels, but it is the city center and fulfills our needs to find weine to remember our home in galicien.
The ribeira sacra is not a place where you can just drop off with weinberg and can cost everything – the larger places are easy to reach, but many small places have no tasting except appt and are very difficult to get to /get ahold...of etc. this place allows them to taste a good piece of small local producers weine cheap all in a place and the personal cares for wine and glassware etc., which is very rare in this type of area for employees in a restaurant-great stop! plus the tapa part of the tortilla espanola give them with their 2 euro 1/2 glass wine is huge!
In this restaurant we have eaten the decent times and visit us next door for weine. my wife and I recommend this place very high, in the did it is a good place to sit and watch the natives.

Among other...things I discovered were that the Denominacion de Origen has only been in existence officially since 1992 and has taken the awards away from much bigger big wine regions of Spain, Italy, and France. The shop has a very large selection of wines from the Ribeira Sacra region and the small tasting is blind so as not promote any one vineyard over another.
