Excellent food and a warm welcome as always ! Love la ALBERCA for breakfast lunch or dinner. We always pop in and say hello when visiting Tolox. It’s a beautiful location overlooking the village. See you soon and thanks for making our stay memorable Simone (el molino viejo) .
I haven't been to this bar/restaurant for a couple of years as I moved away from Tolox, but it was long established with a superb reputation before I arrived.. I would love to move back to this village and one of the biggest attractions is Paco's bar La Alberca.I hope that it hasn't changed. If it hasn't, you will find that the welcome is warm and genuine, and the food is freshly cooked from raw ingredients and typically Andalusian, plus the service is very good and if you need anything you only have to ask. Most of the bar and eating area is outside, and it can get a little chilly in winter, so you have to wrap up in warm clothes then. But, it is so worth it!! In these days of Covid19, it is porbably one of the safest places to eat, perched above the valley, with a breeze! The locals and the ex pats love to come to Paco's and some travel a quite distance to eat at the Alberca..If nothing much has changed, I cannot recommend it highly enough simple, food, beautifully cooked, with superb fresh salads in summer (if you ask). I'm no longer in Spain in France now but one of the highlights of living in Tolox was eating at Paco's for the welcome, the ambience, the open skies, the conviality, and the simple, honest very good Andalucian food. Voila! I went to Paco's as one of a couple, wth family on other occasions, with friends and and business and, sometimes on my own. In fact, I drank and ate there often, for breakfast, lunch and dinnerwith my family and friends and with business partners and was never disappointed. It was a pleasure, every time.
Seven of us arrived early to receive excellent hospitality, prompt, friendly and accurate service. Excellent menu, full of interesting options for veggies, fish and meat eaters. Very highly recommended. Lovely shady scenic terrace and immaculate toilets.
We came for dinner on our last night staying in Tolox. Generally we had eaten out for lunch and barbecued at our villa of an evening. So glad we did have this evening meal out though. What a treat. Sat on a lovely terrace we enjoyed a few sharing dishes. The highlight was the tomato salad (even my very carnivorous husband and daughter out this at the top), closely followed by fried anchovies and pork cheeks. A fab spot buzzing in a good way! Of a Friday evening. Would definitely recommend it.
