The restaurant has a chic, modern farmhouse vibe, featuring tables adorned with black tablecloths and taupe napkins. The food was quite good—the pulled pork was excellent and came with a selection of BBQ sauces. However, the standout aspects were the high prices and subpar service. I understand that food prices have gone up, but charging $50 for an appetizer of pulled pork nachos, a garden salad (my dinner), a pulled pork burrito (my husband's dinner), and a soft drink? That’s quite a shock!
The food and drinks were fantastic – we will certainly be returning! We have missed Moose's for several years and heard they use the family's brisket recipe.
Although the restaurant is currently renovating its building, they are operating out of a food truck while using the kitchen in the existing structure. It's not often that I come across BBQ that's so flavorful it doesn't need sauce, but I thoroughly enjoyed my half pound of pulled pork today without even reaching for the sauce. It brought back memories of some excellent BBQ I had near Goldsboro, NC, years ago, and that taste really lingered. It was fantastic. My wife chose to add Hickory Red Sauce to her meal. We also sampled the green beans, home fries, and coleslaw. It’s clear that these folks are dedicated and working hard to get everything up and running. If you're a fan of great BBQ, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You certainly won’t be disappointed!
