This is one of our local Chinese restaurants. It serves Australian Chinese meals at a reasonable price. The eat in experience is simple but our children like the prawn crackers on the table and lazy sussans on the large round tables. We do pick up takeaway and the children again like the free prawn crackers. It is not always easy to call you order through so we go in to place our order and then go for a play at the pa... Visited here last night to celebrate a friends birthday as it was near his home. Found the whole experience a dissapointment. Decor is not existent. Staff speak very little english. My partner and I ordered chichen and sweet corn soup which smelt and tasted burnt, found it hard to believe staff could send it out to customers . My Mongolian lamb was so full of msg i could not eat much of it and have been suffering the... View all feedback.
This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Melbourne. During my last visit, I tried the duck rolls appetizer and the Peking chicken crepe rolls, both of which were delicious. Their spring rolls are also fantastic. I also had a chicken and corn soup and for my main course, a mouth-watering Honey Glazed duck dish. The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious, including the desserts. I will definitely be coming back here regularly.
I went to this restaurant with my mum last night for dinner. The restaurant's interior is simple and unassuming, but that didn't bother us. The service was very friendly, although a little slow probably because their main focus is on takeout orders. Despite being hungry, we didn't mind the wait as we were catching up. The food was excellent and definitely worth waiting for! We tried the sizzling scallops in garlic and ginger sauce and the Chin Jiew Chicken, both of which were delicious. The portion of scallops was generous and the Chin Jiew chicken had the perfect balance of spice and flavor. They also poured the wine generously. We plan to visit this place more often, especially since it's close to my mum's house.
Sun Luk has been a longstanding establishment, evident from its 90's decor. The food is delicious and the restaurant always has a steady flow of customers. The staff is welcoming and the flavors in their dishes are exceptional. Sun Luk has proven to withstand the test of time.
Used to be our local Chinese place. The food was consistent and good.<br/ <br/ But the last time everything was bad. The honey pepper beef sauce was gelatinous and clumpy. We didn't eat much and felt a bit sick afterwards. <br/ <br/ We haven't returned since, preferring to keep our pleasant memories of the place intact. Not sure if it has changed owners or what. If I were rating our past experiences it would be a 4.5- can't get much better Chinese takeout food. If it was just our last experience it would be a 2. So settled on 3.5.
I've been going to Sun Luk for years, and it rarely disappoints. Great take away, well priced, reasonably generous serves. Seems ownership has changed, and we had a few spotty meals initially but that seems to have rectified itself. This will remain our staple takeaway as long as they keep this quality going.
