Came here one day for lunch as I was in a hurry and got some dumplings. They were absolutely perfect!! Steamed pork dumplings not soggy as I find some dumplings can be, but perfectly cooked with a tasty filling. Have been back numerous times after that and tried many other dishes like the Fried rice which was beautiful! And with prices sooooo cheap what's not to love? Despite the many Chinese restaurants on koornang... View all feedback.

Attempt to have lunch recently with a group of friends. While waiting for a table to be cleaned and prepared, the waiter just totally ignored us.After that, a rude patron and just walk in between us at the table that we're waiting at and sat down without any eye contact. Nothing is done or bothered by the waiter. We just left the restaurant and had lunch at Shyun Ramen instead. View all feedback.
Looking for a nice vegetable dish. My wife Ordered vegetables with tofu. I ordered noodles and vegetables. My wife received plate of mostly tofu and very few vegetables. The vegetables on our plates consisted of some carrots cut in circles and celery. And that's all. Very very basic rubbish. My wife complained all they said was sorry that's it. We will never go back to this terrible place with a box of tissues for serviettes and plastic drinking cups.
Recommended by friends specifically for their soup dumplings and we ordered two lots- were not disappointed also had the steam prawn dumplings very nice. You have to be a bit assertive with the waitresses, if she’s arrives with wrong order,
Customers beware !!! I ordered a main dish and special fried rice for lunch today from eastern dumpling house Carnegie, upon arriving to collect my food I only had my savings card available to make payment. I was notified at the till that they had a $30 minimum on cards and that there would be an additional $1 surcharge for paying with a savings card. My order came to a total of $25, I understand that a business is well within its rights to pass on the banks charges but ONLY what the bank actually charges them! Most bank charges do not exceed 1.5% of the actual purchase price for credit cards per transaction (I was paying with a debit savings card) if you work out the percentage on $25 that’s 4%, it’s absolutely criminal !! Their answer to my query of why they are charging so much was”if I don’t like it go and get cash out” To add the to the insult of this $1 charge on top of my meal price, the attitude of the staff and so called owner that was called to manage the situation leaves a lot to be desired, including snatching the food back and shoving it to the other side of the counter stating that they’d rather lose a sale than drop their extortionate surcharge fee ..... well done to the owner and staff of eastern dumpling house, you have now lost a customer and I will make sure your policy’s of scamming people out of money are very well known to all! To those who wish to eat here ..... beware !!
I went to Eastern dumpling house for lunch and the first thing we ordered was xiaolongbao, as it is rare in Melbourne. The proceed to be absolutely amazing. They were full of delicious liquid and set the bar for the dishes that were to be eaten later. We ordered some more xiaolongbao dumplings because they were so delicious. We ordered clay pots next, which were all right, but not as good as the xiaolongbao. It wasn't bad, but you could probably find better. Overall a great experience because the xiaolongbao is probably the best in Melbourne. Very good.
Don’t come for the food or service, especially when there are such fabulous other choices surrounding. Just a tip...wontons in chilli oil comes topped with satay sauce and peanuts. Satay beef is surprisingly like Mongolian beef. Salt and pepper calamari was good. And salty.
