We walked in on spec on a Sunday afternoon as we were in the area and had not had lunch. Fantastic choice as there are lots of eateries to choose from on this busy strip in Carnegie. All the usual dumplings done really well. Prompt , efficient service with lots to choose from and larger plates too. We left happy and with full tums in no time flat. Will be back ! What Thomas Stamm dislikes about Dumpling Workshop:
Yes sure it was Saturday night which is a busy night for restaurants although, our experience was very disappointing. We have been coming to this restaurant for years and we believe it has changed ownership. We had a reservation and was seated to our table...almost immediately. First time eating there and the food was so delicious! The chicken and chives dumplings were the best I've ever had , the chinese sausage fried rice was so good too and I'm still dreaming of the moorish cucumber salad. They were really accomodating when we arrived and helped get my pram in a spot out of the way. There was a high chair set up for us and they are very child friendly. We are not locals, but will definitely be coming back for another amazing and very affordable meal.
We were there with a group and the prices were so reasonable but what was exciting was the level of the food. I had the Pork Wonton Soup and was literally the best I have ever had, the wontons felt like Dillon my tongue. Beautiful. Service was excellent.
Great food. We have had it delivered before but yesterday took the kids and they loved it. Probably the best dumplings we have had so far since coming to melbourne.
Excellent service, food amazing, price awesome, ambience noisy and everyone chatting and happy just perfect

Dumpling workshop has not powdered what I think is unusual overall I think it was a good place to lunch
Great dumplings, cheap and very cheerful. Get the spring onion pancake and wash it down with a Tsingtao beer
Ordered nasi goreng and even asked for it to be extra spicy and when it arrived it was very sweet and not spicy. When I complained they took it back and said they can’t give me anything else because I may complain again. Shocked at...the terrible service!
Yes sure it was Saturday night which is a busy night for restaurants although, our experience was very disappointing. We have been coming to this restaurant for years and we believe it has changed ownership. We had a reservation and was seated to our table...almost immediately. Then we waited, and waited, and caught someone’s attention to order. And then waited again. Our patience wore thin after waiting 30 minutes longer to receive anything. Unfortunately they forgot two dishes and we finally moved on after almost two hours. After saying all that, the food was good.
We 've eaten here a few times but usually order dumplings, san choi bow, spring onion pancake and spring rolls. This time we decided to order Lemon chicken and Stir fried chicken dice with dry chilli. Lemon chicken batter was far too thick and the meat...was dry. What lemon sauce? The sauce had no lemon flavour and the plate was garnished with cold, just defrosted, frozen pea carrot sweet corn mix out of a bag!!! The stir fried chicken was swimming in chilli oil, there were also green beans and little pieces of oil saturated chilli. I used a bowl of steamed rice to drain off the oily chicken and beans. Both dishes were failures Stick to the dumplings
