Squealing Pig - Monaghan

I stopped last night for a few starters with my 12-year-old son. we went down to the squeeling pig bar stairs and were not disappointed. eating was excellent, service was fabulous and extremely welcoming especially for my son. loved and would recommend it definately.

We were a few times for eating and enjoyed it every time. there is a large selection of foods on the main menu and they make a 3 curs mid week special for €20 with a large selection on this too. we went for the steak on the middle of the week menu a few times, there is a €6 supplement on the steak it is so good cooked (we ordered a blue, a rare and medium rare that all came out perfectly cooked on our request.) €26 for 3 courses including steak is really a fantastic deal! every time we were the tables, all are full of people eating and drinking a good sign! the service is fab, staff are efficient and super friendly. they have whispering angel rosé on the menu that is our favorite summer or winter! great place to dinner for friends or couples and they also have a great children's menu! would definitely recommend if they were looking for high quality food at a great price with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Can’t wait to go back here! Had the honey chilli chicken strips they were amazing, compliments to the chef. Staff very friendly very quick service. Very big portions also. Top class pints of guiness

Worst food we have had in a long time. Myself, my partner and two friends went to this restaurant yesterday for some lunch. We got chicken wings, and others god crispy honey chicken strips. Firstly the chicken wings were 95% batter 3% bone and 2% chicken. Worst I've had in a very long time. Every single one of us were sick that evening vomiting and the next morning we were all extremely sick. Avoid at all costs. We had high hopes looking at the other reviews but simple things like the menus being dirty and the toilets smelling... I'm not surprised we are all sick as the kitchen is probably of a similar hygiene standard. We will most certainly not be back.

I only stopped in for a pint to this pub. Lovely atmosphere and decor, Staff were really friendly and the food coming out looked really good. Have marked this place as a must visit the next time I'm in Monaghan and will try out the food to hopefully give the 5 stars.
