Nestled in Ashtead, this café has garnered a reputation for its vibrant atmosphere and delicious offerings, particularly among cyclists. Many patrons appreciate the friendly staff and quality coffee, highlighted by standout items like the breakfast special featuring avocado, bacon, and chorizo. The café doubles as a bike repair hub, adding charm and practicality for cycling enthusiasts. However, recent reviews indicate a decline in service quality and food safety concerns alongside rising prices. While it remains a popular pit stop, particularly on busy weekends, some visitors are left yearning for the consistent experience they once cherished.

Was TheSvenEffect at Coffeeactive a mag?
Great little place and the good selection of small dishes all served with a good dollop of customer service. Really lovely staff, family feel and always well looked after. Go later in the am on weekends and you will miss the keen lycra mob. Would recommend to anyone. View all feedback.

I used to enjoy this restaurant, but in the past few months, it has declined significantly. The service is poor and lacks attention to detail. The layout of the room has changed, with only a table dividing the area between the counter for food and drinks and a bike service area. Is this even up to food safety standards? The prices are also incredibly high, with a soya latte costing £3.40 for takeaway. I ordered a bacon sandwich and the bacon was uncooked, making it inedible. It's disappointing, as I used to have a lot of love for this place.

Often pop in for a coffee after Spinning in the room above with PedalActive. Often busy with cyclists meeting up to go out on a ride or popping in for a mid cycle pit stop.

Really friendly service and tasty food with a range of bagels and wraps and delicious cake. Hidden off the High Street so really nice and relaxed.

I stumbled upon this cafe on a Saturday morning while doing some emergency babysitting. The ramps are clearly designed for those wheeling bikes, but are also great for pushing a prams. The coffee was incredibly tasty, one of the best I've had in a while. The cafe was bustling, with a welcoming atmosphere and helpful, friendly staff. The food looked appetizing, so I will definitely be returning to this place.

This Coffee Bar has continued well from its previous Bike Bean Cafe name. It serves decent snacky dishes in nice surroundings. Well worth a try.
