This is the best chicken Caesar I've ever had hands down. The lettuce is crisp (not soggy), it's clearly tossed (adequate distribution of dressing), the chicken is warm, and the dressing is damn tasty. You'll certainly have garlic breath, but that's ok...it's what makes the salad so awesome. There are also big croutons and what seems like freshly grated cheese sprinkled on top. I can even forgive the fact that capers... View all feedback.
Mike's Roadhouse Cafe is the best place for a delicious lunch. I had an excellent meal there, and the service was outstanding.
Mike's has reopened! While the pedal cars are no longer there, the cafe staff are quirky and entertaining. The food was decent for a diner.
Mike's Roadhouse Cafe is a fantastic spot. They offer exceptional service to their customers, and their prices are very appealing. Great job!
The bar area looks like a great place to hang out on a busy night, with a classic, slightly rustic vibe. One side of the bar had that old-school dark ambiance and typical bar smell, and that’s where the restrooms were located. The dining experience felt like a throwback to a 90’s diner, which is quite unique these days. It’s not a typical fine dining spot with white tablecloths and organic juices, though they might have had that—I just didn’t notice it on the menu. At each table, there were joke books aimed at older patrons, which provided some laughs, even if the jokes themselves were a bit stale. They did have a strangely conservative political tone, but I won’t get into that. It took a little while for the multi-tasking busboy/host/cook to come out, but he was friendly and covered our order promptly. I opted for a hearty breakfast: eggs, potatoes, orange juice, and coffee. It might not sound huge, but trust me, it was filling and delicious. While we ate, we watched a long train slowly pass by the roadhouse, loaded with flatbed trailers, adding to the charm of the location, which is built around the train depot. The people were wonderful and the atmosphere was cool. As Donald Trump might say: don’t make a mistake by going to the McDonald’s up the street; check out Mike’s Roadhouse instead!
This is by far the best chicken Caesar salad I’ve ever had. The lettuce is crisp and not soggy, and it’s clearly been tossed well with the dressing evenly distributed. The chicken is served warm, and the dressing is absolutely delicious. You might end up with garlic breath, but that just adds to the salad's amazing flavor. There are also generous croutons and what seems like freshly grated cheese on top. I can even overlook the presence of capers, which most people don’t enjoy, because everything else tastes so good that I don’t bother picking out those unpleasant little green bits.
