The proprietor is a Frenchwoman who is broadly traveled with French university degrees in mathematics, physics, and then a US degree in administration. She runs a tight ship and, beyond worldly, she is also extraordinarily thoughtful and deeply connects with and for her guests. Merci et formidable.
We loved our stay at L’Armateur during our Chemin de Jacques. The warm welcome at reception. The room was large and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There was an air conditioner. The bathroom with bath and shower was large and clean. Dinner was great. The breakfast pastries were not the best we have had but there was bread and cereal and yoghurt. The best thing ever was the jug of freshly squeezed orange juice!
We were walking on the chemin with our dog and found this perfect hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious and quiet. The hotel restaurant was a pleasant surprise, top notch dining and wonderful service.
The backyard is beautiful and features a pool, though unfortunately it wasn’t open for use during our visit. There was only one staff member on-site along with a large dog. Breakfast was decent, with enough to start the day. The location is convenient, a 5–10 minute walk to local markets and points of interest.
We stayed here for two nights and I couldn’t recommend it enough. Firstly the host was extremely attentive and friendly, she went out of her way to help us communicate with the hospital nearby for an emergency visit and even drove us there! Secondly, we had dinner two nights in a row, which was impeccable I couldn’t recommend it enough. The rooms we stayed in were immaculate. The hotel overall has an extremely homely and welcoming feel, this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in a very sweet dog : The hotel has a beautiful garden and safe storage for bikes. Thank you for such a pleasant stay. 1000% recommend.
