Very good! We tried the nachos, the mousakka and the apple crumble. What Justo doesn't like about Meson De Marisa:
It is either the owners themselves (or their friends) who write reviews or those people who have been there have no idea how fusion bar look should be. Because if you say that they have best tuna tataki you ever tried, so you must have eaten only tuna from can before. Mini burgers with cold bun, etc. So those of you (like us) who are hoping to find a culinary gem in this dodgy place, better look somewhere else. View all feedback.
We have been to the Meson many times while holidaying in Mazagon. The menu is tapas based, but the servings are very generous and one can dine comfortably on 2 or 3 tapas, or maybe upping one of them to a half portion. Atmosphere is Bohemian and there is sometimes live music from a local folk group. Owners and there staff, mainly family, are friendly and the service is generally good, although at peak times you may end up with something you haven't ordered.
I've been a regular at the Meson and it just keeps getting better and better. Product is fresh and the food is a sincere delight. Best Salmorejo I have ever tasted ..if you feel adventurous try the beetroot version they have it will rock your world ; they have a tuna tataki that melts in your mouth; Ox tail is nice and tender with an unbelievable thick rich sauce; fish balls with shrimp, cream sauce and chips ..yum!; the croquetas of cecina are absolutely sublime; and if you're lucky you get some unbelievable specials chickpeas with a very rare local mushroom called gurumelo was wow! Plus, the family that run the Meson de Marisa are welcoming, generous and fun. If you want to pay your stomach a tribute or feast with friends while in Huelva eat here!
Doesn't open Til 9pm but fills up quite quickly. Menu only in Spanish. Delicious food, great wait staff and affordable. Nice decor!
