Then a beautifully made... read more We received a warm welcome on a busy Saturday night at Clipper. The food was excellent, octopus and mussels with garlic bread to start. Then a beautifully made lobster ragu with perfectly cooked spaghetti. We drank some peroni and well chilled Italian white wine. There was a short performance of opera on the bandstand, which all added to the atmosphere. Lovely evening, great family run business.

Salted prawns starter a minimalist and tasteless joke. Ordered steak and not asked how I wanted it: it came over -cooked and dry. Accompanying veg minimalist lukewarm potatoes and pre- cupped veg. My partner’s fish was just ok but sides again lukewarm. At €90 a very expensive major disappointment.
